V.C. Bird International Airport

Innovative project in Antigua

In 2015, meeco through their joint partner PV Energy Limited and in collaboration with the government of Antigua and Barbuda, Turned on a 3MWp sun2live photovoltaic energy plant at V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua. The fixed structured sun2live solar plant was installed above the ground, it was designed to supply green energy to the airport through the island’s electric grid. Over 12.000 high performance poli-crystalline photovoltaic panels that can generate up to 4.645 MWh per year, have helped save over 3.019,50 tons of CO2 per year, which in turn has allowed to the reduce the twin island state carbon foot print.
